missing a headlight......

So long ago, I don't remember when, that's when they say I lost my only friend . They said she died easy of a broken heart disease, as I listened through the cemetery trees. I seen the sun comin' up at the funeral at dawn, the long broken arm of human law. It always seemed such a waste, she always had a pretty face, I wonder why she hung around this place.....?

Hey, come on try a little, nothing is forever. There's got to be something better than in the middle. Me & Cinderella, we put it all together, we can drive it home with one headlight....

She said it's cold it feels like Independence Day, and I can't break away from this parade. There's got to be an opening, somewhere here in front of me, through this maze of ugliness and greed. I seen the sun up ahead, at the county line bridge, sayin' all there's good and nothingness is dead. We'll run until she's out of breath, she ran until there's nothin' left, She hit the end-it's just her window ledge.....

Hey, come on try a little, nothing is forever. There's got to be something better than in the middle. Me & Cinderella, we put it all together, we can drive it home with one headlight....

Well this place is old, it feels just like a beat up truck. I turn the engine, but the engine doesn't turn. Well it smells of cheap wine & cigarettes, this place is always such a mess, sometimes I think I'd like to watch it burn. I'm so alone, and I feel just like somebody else, man, I ain't changed, but I know I ain't the same. Somewhere here in between the city walls of dyin' dreams, I think her death it must be killin' me.....

Hey, come on try a little, nothing is forever. There's got to be something better than in the middle. Me & Cinderella, we put it all together, we can drive it home with one headlight....

English Relics

Whilst perusing etsy yesterday evening (you know...like you do), I chanced upon one of the most ingenious and incredible shops I've found in a long time.  English Relics uses genuine ancient artifacts combined with new materials to create some seriously amazing (and thoroughly modern) accessories.

I love the fact that these pieces are created using little bits of history so that though the item may be new to you, it still has an interesting story to tell. What's more is that these artifacts being used are actually old - from Roman through Victorian times - so it's not like you're being sold a knick knack from the '80s with an antique label.

JujubySarah is an amazing jewelry shop that has been a favorite of mine for a while now. I love the simple yet exceptional designs. It's not everyday you see rough diamonds being used in jewelry! To view more of Sarah's work visit the gallery on her website!
Incase you were wondering:

Carry-On

I'm planning a big trip for this summer, and I've been keeping an eye out for a bag that will be able to suit a variety of needs. I'll want something that can work as my carry-on for a plane ride, but that will just as easily hold up on a camping trip or thrown in the trunk for a road trip. Any of these four vintage options would be perfect.

If I could grow a beard...

You all know that I've been following the Stanley Cup Playoffs and secretly wishing I could grow a playoff beard. If you've been following too you know that tonight is game 7 between Pittsburgh and Detroit! Anyways, last night I was blog hopping and I got a really good giggle when I found this fun little Etsy shop on the Modish Blog called imadeyouabeard. This Portland crafter makes wonderful beards out of felt and yarn! You could even pick a bright and funky color one! So, if I could grow a beard... I wonder what color it would be ;)

A Vintage Father's Day (cont.)

Connie already posted some great vintage finds for the father in your life, but I couldn't help myself from showing you a few more. It used to be much harder to find great vintage goods for men online, but that seems to be changing lately, and I for one am pleased to see it.

Vintage 1970's Navy Canvas Shoes from The Bag Basement
Vintage Cufflinks from Olden

second row:
Another Mans Shoes from Willow Creek Sparrow
Mid Century Amber Glass and Gold Bar Decanter Drinks Retro from Morning Glorious

Vintage CHRISTIAN DE ROZ Men's Brown Fade Eyeglass Frames from Chigal

As for me, I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of vintage sunglasses for my own baby's daddy (that black framed pair might do nicely).  What do you have planned for the dapper dad in your life?

everyone else has it, so why not?

wedding fever that is.
it's june, so everyone seems to be stuck on weddings!

so, i figured, why not make an almostery with some cool/quirky/cute things that go in a wedding?
(on a lighter note, why is there so much more stuff for the ladies getting married than there is for the gentlemen? do boys not really care, so there's no market? *shrug* no idea.)

anyway: the almostery!

Yart sale? What exactly is a “Yart Sale,” you may ask? The term Yart is an artistic spin on the traditional yard sale:

Art + Yard Sale = Yart!

Head on over to Etsy now and search using the keywords "yart" or "yartfreeship" for some amazing finds!

Modern Chic.

Are two words I would use to describe jessicastewart's jewelry collection. It's simple yet classy, sophisticated and perfect for everyday wear. One of Jessica's goals is to use the highest quality materials and create one of a kind pieces that are available at affordable prices. (I think she's definitely succeeded at her goal!)
