Faux Cupcakes

Most of us love a cupcake now and then, and some of us love them so much we decorate our homes with them. I've wanted to purchase faux cupcakes for my dining room for quite some time, and finally did it. I am so happy with my treats! Jenni B Originals is the cutest shop. These inedible and adorable baby cakes really sweeten up a room.

Happy Friday!

I heart you: jillrosenwald

If you haven't noticed yet, I am a huge fan of people who do ceramic arts because I have tried and have totally failed at anything that requires sculpting with two hands. So naturally, I am loving the ceramic pieces from jillrosenwald's shop. I like them because of the bold designs, pretty colors and fantastic photography! If you've fallen head over heels like me, stop by her shop and take a peek at the rest of her work!

Swim Season Soon

I don't know what the weather looks like in your neck of the woods, but it's been heating up pretty quickly around these parts. I'm planning on a lot of swimming and beaching time for myself this summer, but I really want a new (old) swimsuit before I head out. These three vintage options all manage to be incredibly sexy without showing too much skin - exactly what I like to see.

Homemade Lemonade

I would love to share this yummy recipe I found and made this week : )

I used the Perfect Lemonade Recipe.

You will need 4-6 lemons to get 1 cup of lemon juice.

While you're prepping the lemons to be juiced - dissolve 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water on the stove. You need to make a simple syrup, so the sugar mixes with the juice instead of sinking to the bottom of the pitcher.

After you juice the lemons and have your simple syrup prepared, combine them both in a pitcher.

Add 4 cups of cold water and chill in the fridge for 30-40 minutes. Yum!

Mob Mentality

I've really taken a liking to menswear inspired looks lately. So while I was reading The Godfather a couple weeks ago, I found myself imagining what the characters were wearing and then picturing it on myself.  Here's what I'm thinking - plenty pieces of a black hue, very sleek tailoring, and dapper details.  Of course, it wouldn't hurt to employ some bright red lips for the finishing flourish.

Clark Gable

by The Postal Service

I was waiting for a cross-town train in the London Underground, when it struck me, that I've been waiting since birth to find a love that would look and sound like a movie. So I changed my plans, I rented a camera and a van and then I called you...
"I need you to pretend that we are in love again." and you agreed to....

I want so badly to believe that "there is truth, that love is real" and I want life in every word to the extent that it's absurd.

I greased the lens and framed the shot using a friend as my stand-in. The script it called for rain but it was clear that day so we faked it. The marker snapped and I yelled "quiet on the set" and then called "action!"

I kissed you in a style clark gable would have admired (i thought it classic)....

I want so badly to believe that "there is truth, that love is real" and I want life in every word to the extent that it's absurd.

i know you're wise beyond your years, but do you ever get the feel, that your perfect verse is just a lie, you tell yourself to help you get by....?

Now I just have to figure out what will grow! I'm thinking maybe the ones below would be good.
