Keys Please

I have a real problem when it comes to antique skeleton keys. I cannot leave an antique shop without buying at least one, and I'm always on the look out when perusing garage sales and thrift stores. I seem to have amassed quite the collection over the past few years, but I just can't help myself from looking for more.

For me, the part romantic part creepy aspect of a skeleton key is just perfect for harnessing the feel of fall. Here are some very lovely options brought to you via etsy. I'm salivating a little just looking at the photos.

I love skeleton keys as well. I just need to get a little extra spending money so I can go exploring again!

I love old keys too! We've used some on our houses, and I hang them around the house, like from ceiling fans. Lovely examples!

I have a crazy addiction with skeleton keys, too. I've even made a necklace out of one -- You should try it!

Oooo, yes, I have made lots of skeleton key necklaces, and people just love them. There's something so mysterious about them, where have they been, what doors have they opened?

Thanks for the comments everyone! I have made a couple skeleton key necklaces and really love them. I definitely plan to make more!

Also, Times And Chimes - I love the idea of hanging them from a ceiling fan! Thanks for the tip.
