I found the cutest shop recently, Mikish. I was drawn to the art because the characters resemble Blythe dolls, and I adore Blythe dolls! I bought 3 postcard prints for $7.00. They arrived super fast, and are great quality. What more could you ask for?
are flocking to the beach hoping to work on their tan, I am hiding in my air conditioned room not wanting to leave it even for a minute! Seriously, there's only one room in my house that is air conditioned and the rest of the house feels like this painting by angieskoskie (I'm not even exaggerating).
A few days ago I said I wanted to make banana bread so my mom picked up a huge bag of ripe bananas from work for $1. What a bargain! The bananas look like crap on the outside but are perfect with no bruises on the inside. So since then we have enjoyed banana chocolate chip loaf, banana milkshakes, banana pancakes, chocolate dipped bananas, fried bananas with ice cream, a plain banana and I even froze some. I seriously can't believe all the things you can do with bananas.
Since Caroline is still on vacation (hopefully having a blast wherever she is!) and so it is my duty to bring you this week's vintage finds! It doesn't take a genius to figure out that hot summer days + cool drinks = condensation. So, unless you want to have or like having water ring stains all over your furniture you'll want to pick up some of these super cool coasters! I flipped through all 37 pages of vintage coasters. Only the best made the cut!

There's a gorgeous selection of fine art prints and cards in Sandy Belk's shop. Be sure to drop by and take a peek! Sandy is having a 20% off sale on her Photo Vignettes Line from now until the end of July! You might just find yourself ordering something to hang on your wall :)
Don't we all wish we could live in a pink house near the water, or is it just me? Apparently, Kim's Cottage Art also shares this dream of mine!
I love the cute little details in her work. The Kitchen-Aid mixer, kitty and pumpkins on the front steps, and the neat little package nestled under a polka-dot mailbox. Each time I walk by this print in my home--I smile. I have my eye on one of her winter scenes next.
Have you heard about Roar yet? It's a ladies vintage and handmade clothing shop located in the UK. Jade Golding a university student at Plymouth University set up the website recently hoping to build it up. The shop carries a selection of clothing, shoes, accessories and increases their stock all the time. Don't steer away just because Roar is located in the UK! They ship internationally!
Steppie has one of the cutest shops I've seen on Etsy! Adorable artwork featured on canvas, clothing, paper, and more! The playfulness in all of her product photos is just wonderful and gives us insight to what she as a designer wants to share with the world (killing you with cuteness).
Lately, there has been no shortage of sweets in my house! There's something about the summer time and having such a wide variety of fruits available at my disposal that makes me want to bake and bake and BAKE every recipe I can get my hands on. This is one of my favorite recipes that I make every year: Blueberry Streusel Coffee Cake. It's moist and soft on the inside and has a sweet and slightly crunchy topping. Give it a try if you have a chance! It smells so good while it's baking.
Notes: I don't use a 9x9 inch pan because I don't like to eat huge chunks of cake. Instead I spread the batter out in a greased 9x13 inch pan and bake for approximately 25-30 mins at 350 degrees when it's done the crumbly topping is a nice golden brown color and you can do a toothpick test too. I add about a teaspoon of lemon rind to the batter for extra flavor when I fold in the blueberries. I don't include pecans because I don't like nuts in my cakes. You don't need to sprinkle all of the topping on if you don't want to. If it's too thick or you don't cut the butter small enough the topping will be crunchy.
Caroline our Vintage guest writer is on vacation this month so I will be taking over and posting in her place. I hope you enjoy my picks as much as you enjoy hers! The nautical look is so fun! I thought I'd put together a little outfit.

Fusun Aydinlik the owner of zeustones resides in a small village located in Turkey where she collects beautiful naturally shaped stones from the Agean sea. Carefully, she cleans and paints all of her stones useing a variety of paints on each stone including acrylic, sketch marker, porcelain paint, archival ink, crayon, permanent marker, x-ray marker, coffee, berry juices, etc...
