HOW TO: Shop on Art Fire

Recently I found out about this great new handmade venue called Art Fire. There are so many talented artisans over there I thought I should share it with you all rather than keep this wonderful find to myself! Also, I know that since it is a new site in beta mode you might feel a little iffy about making purchases and how the check out system works so I wrote a tutorial just for you!

This example is a purchase I made from TantalizingStitches.

Step 1: When you find something you want to buy click on the "Buy" button.

Step 2: When you are finished shopping hit the "My Cart" tab located on the top right and it will show you the totals of your order on the left hand side. If you reside in a country other than the US it will do the currency conversion for you. If everything looks good click "Checkout".

Step 3: This will bring you to the checkout page where you can select your address from the drop down list if you provided it during registration or you can enter a new one. When everything looks good you can hit "submit". (If your shipping address is different than the one in your Paypal, RME or Google Checkout be sure to let the seller know so they don't get confused!)

Step 4: On the next page there will be a few payment options such as Paypal, RME, and Google Checkout. Select your preferred payment method by clicking on the logo and follow through to pay for your purchase. You should receive 2 emails the first being the receipt for your order and the second the receipt for your payment. Voila! Purchase made!

Step 5: To view your purchase invoices go to the "My ArtFire" link at the top right corner of the page and then scroll down to find the "My Purchases" link in the blue side bar on the left hand side under the "Buying" section.

**Please remember that if you are purchasing from multiple shops you will have to checkout separately.

Have fun shopping! I opened a shop on there recently if you get the chance drop by and say hello! http://thetinyfig.artfire.com

Thanks for posting this Tiny! I thought that artfire only could support US based shops though ?

Hi there, ArtFire was built to support US and International based buyers and sellers. We provide a site wide currency converter and Pay Pal can be used as a secure method of payment for international transactions during our secure checkout.

It is also noteworthy to mention that you can sell your handmade items on ArtFire.com free of charge. No listing fees, no final valuation fees, no fees at all, no kidding!

We also offer stats to every member AND Google Analytics. Plus every item listed is submitted to Google Shopping (Google Base) automatically for you! No cutting or pasting code, no fuss at all!

You can follow updates, sneak peeks, site development, or just send a message directly to me on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/ArtFireJohn

Respectfully,

John Jacobs, President
