Happy September!

It's September! My second favorite month. April is my first. That's when my birthday is. In New England, fall starts in September, school starts again (I always loved school), the weather is crisp not humid or cold. It's a time for light sweaters and jeans. I'm all for comfy clothing and layers-optional weather.

September is also prime apple-picking season here. That is a huge favorite in my family. My mom makes the best homemade applesauce. It's a real treat. There's apple pie and cobbler and dumplings. The smell of baking apples is divine. Apples are also good right off the tree (after a quick rub on your shirt.)
