A Few Of My Favourite Things

Hi! My name is Karen, a new guest writer here on this delightful blog. On mondays I will be sharing with you a few of my favourite things. Over the next few weeks I hope you will get to know me a little better. The first thing you should know and have probably already realised is that I am a bit of a techno phobe! Try as I might I just couldn't create a pretty mosaic. Never mind, these finds speak for themselves anyway.
Now a little more about me. I run the 'all things hand stitched blog' Contemporary Embroidery and a little online shop, contemporary stitches. I hope you will check these both out. On my blog you will discover pretty much everything about me, my inspiration, my motivation, the daily struggle between life/work/embroidery and there are also some pretty good links on there too.
My first find this week is from an amazingly talented master bookbinder from Finland. Kaija runs a very successful shop on etsy, Paperiaarre and a brilliantly readable blog of the same name. Her shop contains lovingly hand crafted books along with original hand embroidered jewellery and paper goods.

The intricate illustration below is from an other successful etsy seller Munieca. Visit this shop and you will find more detailed artwork along with earrings, brooches and other paper creations. Green Phoenix, the creator of wonderful collage, also makes the most covetable dolls I have ever seen. They are definitely at the top of my wish list and I am certain you will love them. You can check them out here, and her other work can be fouund here.

Now I don't know about you, but I adore stationary. In a world dominated by e-mail etc it's a great feeling to receive a beatiful card from the postman. If you feel the same I can't push this shop enough. Satsumalynn creates the prettiest cards for all occassions. I definitely want some of these!

I hope you have enjoyed this peek at some of my favourite things, next week I want to bring you stitch, stitch and stitch!! Please come back and take a look!
